1980 edition by Fount Books. Originally written in 1976 so dated! Small cut on front cover, blackened over personal details on back of front cover. Pages are aged but in tact
It did not occur to past generations of christians to ask awkward questions about the first Easter. The traditional stories of an empty tomb, and of a dead man coming back to life to walk and talk with his friends, 'found' them where they were, and spoke deeply to them.
The Christian of today is not always in that situation. The secularized world in which he has grown up, and the world view he has inherited, seem to relegate the Easter stories to a never-neverland which has nothing to do with his everyday life.
Does there need to be this division between his faith and his living? Is it possible to express the meaning of Jesus' resurrection in terms of the world as we know it, not of some other world?
